Punjab Govt: Baldev Singh Sran appointed as the new PSPCL CMD The Punjab government has appointed Baldev Singh Sran as the chief managing director (CMD) of the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), here on Tuesday. The retired PSPCL chief engineer has a 35-year experience of working in different positions in the power corporation. He was the president of PSEB engineers association for five years. Earlier, a screening-cum-selection committee, headed by chief secretary Karan Avtar Singh, had shortlisted three candidates for the post. As per sources, the other two shortlisted candidates were NK Sharma, currently working as director (distribution), PSPCL and Harbans Singh, regional executive director of National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC). It was for the first time that the Punjab government has conducted interviews for the post of the CMD, PSPCL. -PTC News
