Punjab government issues new guidelines for reopening of more activities
Cinema halls in Punjab: Punjab government on Saturday announced more guidelines for reopening of more activities, including cinema halls and entertainment parks in areas outside the containment zones and to extend the lockdown in containment zones to be implemented from November 1 to 30. The cinema halls in Punjab have been allowed to reopen with effect from November 1 with up to 50 percent capacity of their seating capacity in areas outside containment zones as per the Standard Operating Procedures issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MoI&B), Government of India. Also Read | MHA issues Unlock 5 guidelines; here's what’s opened, what's closed Likewise, the entertainment parks and similar places in areas outside containment zones have been permitted as per the SOPs issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoH&FW), Government of India. Earlier, the Punjab Government had announced the reopening of schools in the state in subject to the following conditions:
- Online/distance learning shall continue to be the preferred mode of teaching and shall be encouraged.
- Students of only Class 9 and 12 are permitted to attend the schools with the parental consent of each student and without making attendance compulsory.
- Attendance must not be enforced and must depend entirely on parental consent.
