Punjab elections 2022: Congress' 2nd list out, Harcharan Singh Brar’s daughter-in-law gets ticket from Muktsar

Mohali, January 25: The Congress on Tuesday released its second list of 23 candidates for the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections. With this, the party has now declared 109 candidates. Smit Singh, nephew of Navjot Singh Sidhu, will contest from Amargarh and Karan Kaur Brar, daughter-in-law of former Punjab CM Harcharan Singh Brar, will contest from Muktsar. Former AAP leader Ashu Banger will be contesting from Ferozepur Rural. The name of four-time MLA Amrik Dhillon from Samrala has been dropped. From Sahnewal, Vikram Bajwa, son-in-law of former CM Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, has been fielded. From Jagraon, AAP’s Raikot MLA Jagtar Hissowal, who shifted to the Congress, has been given ticket. Earlier, the Congress had announced 86 candidates for the Punjab Assembly elections. Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi will contest from his traditional seat Chamkaur Sahib. Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu has been fielded from Amritsar East Assembly constituency while Chairman of the Punjab Congress Manifesto Committee and Rajya Sabha MP Pratap Singh Bajwa will contest from Qadian. Lone Minister Brahm Singh Mohindra has been dropped, but his son has been given ticket from his seat. Congress Campaign Committee chairman Sunil Jakhar has got success in getting ticket for his nephew Sandeep Jakhar from Abohar. Actor Sonu Sood's sister, Malvika Sood who recently joined the Congress will be contesting from Moga and singer Sidhu Moosewala from Mansa seat.
