Punjab Cabinet swearing-in Highlights | New Punjab Cabinet sworn in
Chandigarh, March 19: Ten Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs took oath as Punjab ministers on Saturday at Punjab Raj Bhawan, Chandigarh. Bhagwant Mann, who was sworn in as Punjab Chief Minister on March 16, had announced his Council of Ministers on Friday. Although there are 17 vacancies in the Cabinet, besides Chief Minister, the AAP is inducting only 10 ministers as of now. The announcement of new Cabinet was made by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Twitter late Friday evening. Those who he has chosen to be in his team are Harpal Cheema (Dirba), Dr Baljit Kaur (Malout), Harbhajan Singh ETO (Jandiala) Dr Vijay Singla (Mansa), Lal Chand Kataruchak (Bhoa), Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer (Barnala), Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal (Ajnala), Laljit Singh Bhullar (Patti), Brahm Shankar (Hoshiarpur) and Harjot Singh Bains (Anandpur Sahib). Cheema and Meet Hayer have been elected for the second term, while the remaining eight MLAs have been elected for the first time. Kotkapura MLA Kultar Singh Sandhwan has been made Speaker of the Punjab Legislative Assembly.
