Punjab Cabinet announces to fill 25,000 vacancies in various depts
Chandigarh, March 19: The Punjab Cabinet, led by Bhagwant Mann, on Saturday decided to recruit 25,000 persons against vacant posts in various departments, boards and corporations.
The first meeting of the Punjab Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, on Saturday lasted for 30 minutes. The first Punjab Cabinet meeting also decided to present a Vote on Account for three months in the ongoing session of the Vidhan Sabha. It was also announced that supplementary grants required by various departments in the ongoing fiscal would be cleared in the ongoing session, which ends on March 22.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in its poll promises had said after the formation of the government, they would provide jobs to the unemployed youths. Among other poll promises of the AAP in Punjab, national convener of the party and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had promised to improve the condition of government schools and hospitals in the state, generate employment avenues, free electricity up to 300 units per billing cycle and also promised Rs 1,000 per month to women above 18 years.
