Punjab become overall champion in both U-17 & U-21 categories of Judo The players from Punjab have continued their splendid show at the ‘Khelo India Games’ currently underway at Pune (Maharashtra). Punjab won 9 medals today including 5 gold medals. The Sports Minister Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi has congratulated the medal winners and boosted the morale of those players who have their events lined up. [caption id="attachment_240092" align="aligncenter"]Punjab become overall champion in both U-17 & U-21 categories of Judo Punjab become overall champion in both U-17 & U-21 categories of Judo[/caption] Disclosing the details, the Chef De Mission of Punjab contingent and Director, Sports Mrs. Amrit Kaur Gill said that Manpreet Kaur has bagged Gold Medal in the U-21 age group of Javelin throw event, Gurkirat Singh in Hammer Throw of U-21 and Amandeep Singh won Gold medal in Shotput event of U-17 while in Judo Jobendeep Singh (100 Kg) and Harshdeep Singh Brar (81 Kg) won Gold Medals in U-17 category. In 70 Kg of U-21 Judo, Simranjit Kaur bagged Bronze while in Gymnastic U-21 event, Aryan Sharma bagged Bronze.
