Punjab Advocate General Anmol Rattan Sidhu resigns; name of Vinod Ghai as next A-G doing rounds
Mohali, July 26: Punjab Advocate General Anmol Rattan Sidhu has tendered his resignation from the post. He had assumed charge as the new Advocate General (AG) of Punjab on March 19 this year. Senior Advocate General Anmol Rattan Sidhu, who remained the president of the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association for eight times, had said he would donate his salary as AG for the treatment of drug addicts and their rehabilitation. He had assumed charge after Deepinder Singh Patwalia resigned following the Punjab Assembly elections results earlier this year. Now, the name of senior advocate Vinod Ghai as the next A-G is doing the rounds. Recently, Anmol Rattan Sidhu, who was travelling on Shatabdi Express, escaped unhurt in a stone pelting incident between Babarpur and Gharaunda railway station on Delhi-Chandigarh railway-line.
