Punjab: 5-kg RDX seized from near international border in Amritsar's Attari
Amritsar: In a major development in poll-bound Punjab, the Special Task Force (STF) confiscated five kg of RDX from near the international border near Dhanoe Kalan village in Attari, Punjab's Amritsar, on Friday.
The STF has rounded up several people for questioning. The explosives were allegedly smuggled by ISI-backed anti-national forces from Pakistan.

The explosive was defused by a bomb squad present on the spot. Besides the RDX, the STF also recovered six AK 47 rifle rounds, two grenades, three UBGL, seven detonators, three fuses, a pouch and a bag from near the international border near Dhanoe Kalan village in Attari, Amritsar.
Asked about the threat posed due to the recovery of the IED in the Assembly elections in Punjab on February 14, he said the matter was under investigation. "It is the subject of investigation and nothing can be said at this moment as it is the initial stage," he said. Earlier, ahead of the Republic Day celebrations, the Delhi Police on Friday recovered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) from Ghazipur flower market. Soon after getting the information, the Delhi Police rushed a bomb disposal squad and fire engines to control the situation. Minutes after the incident, the Delhi Police said, “A case has been registered in the Delhi Police Special Cell under provisions of the Explosive Substances Act.” Sensing the severity of the matter, NSG commandos were sent. Later, NSG officials said, “A bomb disposal squad of the NSG has defused the IED recovered from Ghazipur.
