Punjab: 5 dead as car falls into Bhakra canal near Ropar; 2 kids missing

Chandigarh, April 18:  Five persons, including two women, died while two children are feared drowned after a Hyundai Creta car fell into the Bhakra canal, near Ropar, in Punjab on Monday. The car was registered in Rajasthan and was coming from Kiratpur Sahib side when it was hit by a private bus. DSP Varinder Pal Singh said the car fell into the canal after being hit by a private bus from behind near Ahmedpur village on the Kiratpur Sahib-Ropar road in Punjab.   The car was lifted out of the Bhakra canal near Ropar using a crane and the bodies of three men and two women were recovered.
