Three killed, 7 hurt in tragic road accident on Patiala-Balbehra road near Patiala

The accident was caused by a truck parked without lights on the road, which led to a direct collision between two cars

PTC Web Desk: Three persons were killed and seven others injured in a tragic road accident on the Patiala-Balbehra road, near Patiala, on Tuesday. Among the fatalities, two were reported from Ghanaur and one from Chika.

According to reports, the accident was caused by a truck parked without lights on the road, which led to a direct collision between two cars. In the Punjab-registered Etios car, a mother-son duo, Jaspal Kaur (55) and Harinder Singh (38), lost their lives. They were residents of Alamdi Pur village in the Ghanaur area. Balkaar Singh, Harbhajan Singh and his mother Surinder Kaur were also travelling in the car, who  sustained serious injuries.

The second vehicle involved was a Haryana-registered Swift car, in which Poonam, wife of Pawan Kumar from Chika, also died on the spot. Pawan Kumar and three others—Gaurav, Chetna, and Jyoti Rani—were seriously injured. All injured were rushed to Government Rajindra Hospital in Patiala.

A case has been registered against truck driver Balveer Singh, a resident of Bagoura village.
