Those who took Guru Granth Sahib to police station as shield can't be called heir of Punjab: Bhagwant Mann on Ajnala clash
Mohali, February 25: Two days after a clash between 'Waris Punjab De' head Amritpal Singh's supporters and Ajnala police personnel, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday said those who took Guru Granth Sahib ji to a police station as a shield could not be called heir (waris) of Punjab.
On February 23, Amritpal Singh and his supporters carrying swords and guns broke through barricades and barged into a police station in Ajnala town in border district of Amritsar. They continued the dharna till the police issued an assurance that Amritpal Singh's aide Lovepreet Singh alias Toofan would be released soon.

Notably, Amritpal Singh, head of ‘Waris Punjab De’, and his supporters took 'Palki Sahib' carrying Guru Granth Sahib for holding “amrit sanchar” at the Ajnala police station. “Those who take the Guru Granth Sahib to police stations as a shield cannot be called ‘waris’ of Punjab and Punjabiyat in any way,” Mann said in a tweet in Punjabi.
Lovepreet Singh alias Toofan was released from the Amritsar jail on Friday.
