Sanyukt Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal detained at Khanauri border ahead of hunger strike
According to the reports, he was taken away by team of police officials from Punjab and Haryana.
PTC News Desk: Prominent farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, leader of the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) has been detained at Khanauri border in order to prevent him from indefinite hunger strike from Tuesday. Dallewal had announced that he would begin his fast unto death to press the government for the demands of the farmers including MSP guarantee on crops.
Dallewal was detained at Khanauri border. According to the reports, he was taken away by team of police officials from Punjab and Haryana. Farmer leader had given an ultimatum that if the demands of the farmers are not fulfilled then then he would starve to death. The whereabouts of the farmer leader have not been disclosed yet.
Dallewal's detention has irked farmers and they have further warned the government that if he is not released then the government has to bear the brunt and that the consequences will be grave.
Sarwan Singh Pandher, coordinator, Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM), said, “I have learnt that it was a joint operation of the Punjab Police, Haryana Police, and central forces… We strongly condemn this act of security forces who are preventing our right to protest”.
Earlier he had announced that he has got his land registered in the name of his son, daughter-in-law on Monday so that if he died, they do not face any problem after him.
