SAD leader Sukhbir Singh Badal writes to Amit Shah, seeks Prez medal for cops who saved his life
Meanwhile, SAD MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal has also written to Shah demanding high level judicial investigation into the matter.
PTC News Desk: SAD leader Sukhbir Singh Badal has written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah seeking Presidential acknowledgment for two ASIs who foiled assassination attempt on him.
In a letter to Amit Shah, Badal has sought the President’s Police Medal for Jasbir Singh and Hira Singh to honor their “exemplary courage and selfless devotion to duty” on the heels of the assassination attempt on December 4 at Golden Temple. Sukhbir Singh Badal said, “It was remarkable how ASI Jasbir and Hira displayed courage and risked their life to save mine.” He said, “The prevention of tragic sequence of events was nothing short of providential, especially as those bent upon vitiating the sanctity of the holy place and communal harmony in Punjab.”
Meanwhile, SAD MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal has also written to Shah demanding high level judicial investigation into the matter. She slammed Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann-led government for “issuing provocative justifications for acts amounting to killings of political rivals”.
In the letter SAD MP asserted that the moments before the unfortunate incident, Punjab police officials were seen having a contact with people having criminal track-record including Narain Singh Chaura.
She said, “These controversial figures were then allowed to move freely and were literally guided to their intended target.”
She said it was clear that the assassination attempt was not “a lone wolf”.
