Punjab weather update: Amid the sweltering heat in Punjab, several parts of the state are likely to experience rainfall on Tuesday. According to the weather department, a yellow alert has been issued for the state for May 23 (Tuesday), bringing people some respite from the heat.
For Wednesday (May 24), an orange alert has been issued in Punjab, with rain and winds gusting up to 50 km/h.

Meanwhile, with a significant change in temperature, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Jalandhar and Nawa Shahr are likely to experience rainfall and strong winds on Wednesday. Such weather will continue till May 26, Friday.
Earlier on Monday, Punjab saw scorching heat, with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius in nearly all districts. Patiala's temperature was recorded as 45.2 degrees.
