PTC Web Desk: Popular Punjabi singer R Nait has allegedly received threatening calls, demanding a ransom of Rs 1 crore. The singer has reportedly been receiving such calls for some time now.

R Nait's team has filed an official complaint with the Punjab Police, which have initiated an investigation into the phone numbers from which the calls were made. The police are currently tracing the numbers and investigating the those behind the threats.

In one of the threatening calls, the accused used a line from R Nait's own song. They sang the lyrics, "Tere yaar nu dabban nu firde si, par dabda kithe ya," before threatening the singer, stating, "Asi dabana jaande haan" (we know how to suppress). Following this specific threat, a complaint was lodged with the police in Mohali.

It is learnt that the threatening calls were made from a UK-based number. The police are investigating further to gather more information about the origin of the threats and the people involved.
