Punjab weather update: Rainfall is likely in some parts of 11 districts in Punjab today (Wednesday), according to the Meteorological Department. The districts expecting rain are Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Faridkot, Fazilka, Moga, Muktsar, Bathinda, and Mansa—particularly those bordering Himachal Pradesh. The weather department has issued a yellow alert for these areas, warning of thunderstorms and lightning.
Meanwhile, the state’s maximum temperature has decreased by 0.2 degrees Celsius, bringing it in line with the normal range. Bathinda recorded the highest temperature at 35.5 degrees Celsius. No rainfall was recorded in any part of the state over the past 24 hours. Chandigarh is expected to experience clear skies.
Weather to change after October 11
According to the Meteorological Department, the possibility of rain in the state will persist until October 10, after which the weather is expected to change. Both maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to remain within normal limits. From October 11 to 17, no further rainfall is anticipated, and temperatures are expected to stabilise, providing some relief from the heat. Additionally, the minimum temperature has started to drop, with most districts seeing it dip below 23 degrees Celsius. Pathankot recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 17.4 degrees Celsius.
