Punjab Weather: On Wednesday morning, Punjab woke up to intense downpour offering respite from the sweltering from the heat and humidity.
The monsoon has finally arrived in Punjab and is steadily advancing across the state, bringing heavy rainfall in various regions across the state.
This shift has provided significant relief from the scorching heat, as today’s weather offered a break from the intense sun.
Heavy Rainfall in Punjab
The Meteorological Department reported that several cities including Chandigarh, Mohali, Ropar, and Patiala and Ludhiana among other districts are experiencing heavy rainfall since morning.

Yellow Alert in THESE districts
A yellow alert has been issued for several districts, including Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Moga, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Rupnagar, Barnala, Sangrur, Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, and SAS Nagar and the winds are expected to reach speeds of up to 40 km/h.
Residents welcomed the rain and said that it would give some relief to the farmers and also reduce pollution in the city. Residents of the tricity witnessed cloudy skies, thunderstorms, rainfall, and brisk winds.
