PTC Web Desk: In a heart-wrenching incident, a 13-year-old boy, identified as Dinesh, died allegedly after being attacked by a pit bull at Swamipur Bagh in Nangal tehsil of Rupnagar. The incident took place on August 19, and Dinesh succumbed to his injuries at the PGI in Chandigarh on September 11 .

Dinesh would go to school in nearby Nahela village falling under Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh. The incident took place when he was returning home after attending the school. He suffered severe injuries to his neck in the Pit bull attack. Upon reaching home, Dinesh's family took him to the government hospital in Una, where he received initial medical treatment. Later, he was referred to the PGI, Chandigarh, for further treatment. Unfortunately, Dinesh could not recover from his injuries and died on September 11.

The family of the deceased alleged that the owner of the dog, who lived in the village, did not visit them or show any concern about Dinesh's condition.

Notably, Dinesh's father had passed away some time ago, and he was living with his mother and one sibling at his grandmother's house. Due to their financial constraints, the family did not file a complaint with the police regarding the incident.

However, former sarpanch of Bhabour Sahib Ranjeet Singh took note of the situation and brought the matter to the notice of local mediapersons.
