Punjab to install CCTV cameras in sub-registrar offices to ensure transparency
Each office will have two cameras installed inside and two outside
PTC Web Desk: In a significant move to enhance transparency, the Punjab Government has mandated the installation of surveillance cameras in all sub-registrar and joint registrar offices across the state. Each office will have two cameras installed inside and two outside.
Sub-registrars and joint registrars play a crucial role in handling the registration of property documents, maintaining land records, and facilitating other official transactions related to property and revenue. Their work directly impacts citizens and ensures legal compliance in property dealings.
Deputy Commissioners (DCs) will monitor the camera footage to ensure efficient functioning and timely completion of public services. The initiative aims to curb irregularities, ensure accountability, and improve the delivery of services to the public.
