Punjab invites applications to fill post of OSD (Litigation) at Secretariat level
Applicant should have three years of practicing experience in Punjab and Haryana High Court

Social Justice, Empowerment, and Minorities Minister Dr Baljit Kaur said the Punjab Government was recruiting for the post of OSD (Litigation) at the Secretariat level for the Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Department and the Social Security, Women and Child Development Department. This appointment would provide an exceptional opportunity for experienced legal experts to contribute to the department’s vision of delivering justice and empowerment to the marginalised communities of Punjab.
Dr Baljit Kaur said the minimum educational qualification for applicants should be a graduate degree with an LLB in first division and they must have passed Punjabi at the matriculation level. She said a fixed salary/retainership fee of Rs 60,000 will be provided to the appointed candidate. The tenure for this post will initially be for two years, but it can be extended up to five years.
She said the applicant should have three years of practicing experience in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh, or three years of working experience in the Legal and Legislative Affairs Department, Punjab/Advocate General's Office, Punjab, or be a retired officer from the Punjab Judicial Service. The applicant’s age should be between 35-62 years as on last date of receipt of applications.
The minister said the appointment to the post of OSD (Litigation) will be made by the government on the recommendation of a committee. The committee will evaluate candidates based on parameter such as; percentage of marks in LLB, weightage to LLM, experience and drafting of reply to the writ petitions. Eligible candidates will be shortlisted according to these parameters.
The Cabinet minister said interested candidates should submit their applications to the office of the Director, Social Justice, Empowerment, and Minorities Department at SCO No. 7, Phase-1, SAS Nagar, Mohali, by September 30, 2024.
