Punjab Govt names Dasuya-Hajipur road after Sardar Jassa Singh Ramgharia
Singhpur Barnala (Hoshiarpur), May 5: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday announced to name Dasuya-Hajipur road after legendary Sikh warrior Jassa Singh Ramgarhia, adding that the measure will make the young generations aware of the rich legacy of the state.

said that the valour and heroism of such heroes have always inspired us to make selfless sacrifices for nation. The CM added that the great Sikh Gurus had taught us to fight against tyranny, injustice and oppression adding that the warriors like Sardar Jassa Singh had followed the footsteps of great Gurus.
Bhagwant Mann said that it is a matter of great pride for us that we inherit such a glorious legacy which is unparalleled in the world.
Reiterating his government’s firm resolve to develop Punjab as a model state in terms of per capita income, the Chief Minister said that the long and arduous wait of people for realising the dreams of people has been fulfilled after the formation of the AAP government in the state. He said that the sacred land of Punjab has been blessed by great Gurus, Saints, Seers and prophets adding that Punjabis are born entrepreneurs who have carved a niche for themselves across the globe. Bhagwant Mann said that the need of the hour is to utilise this immense potential and ensure holistic development of the state adding that the government is committed to optimally harnessing this potential to restore the pristine glory of the state and make it ‘Rangla Punjab’.
The Chief Minister said that Punjabis had always been at the forefront of every battle due to which the state has been known as sword arm of the country. Announcing to launch a crusade against unemployment in the state, Bhagwant Mann said that the battle against unemployment has been initiated on this land as till now 29,000 government jobs have been transparently given to youth.
Listing out steps taken against the corrupt leaders, the Chief Minister said that every single penny will be recovered from these leaders and this money will be duly utilised for the development of the state. He said that those who have robbed the tax payer’s money will not be spared for their misdeeds. Bhagwant Mann said that action has been initiated against corrupt leaders and they have been put behind bars adding that more will follow.
Paying floral tributes to Sardar Jassa Singh Ramgarhia, the Chief Minister said that the valiant hero had fought 11 battles to protect the sovereignty of the country. He said that following the lines of this legendary hero, the state government has also waged a war against corruption.
Recalling the contribution of Sardar Jassa Singh Ramgarhia, the Chief Minister promised to realize the dreams of Martyrs adding that his government had also assumed charge of the office by taking a solemn pledge on the revered land of Khatkar Kalan. Bhagwant Mann said that following footsteps of his Grandfather Hardas Singh, who fought many battles with Baba Banda Singh Bahadur against tyranny and oppression of Mughals, Sardar Jassa Singh Ramgarhis never bowed against the cruelty of the invaders and he was the prominent leader during the period of the Sikh Confederacy, who became the Misldar of the Ramgarhia Misl.
Training his guns against successive state governments for neglecting these heroes, the Chief Minister said that due to the apathetic approach of previous dispensations, the youth of the state are not aware of the contribution of these heroes. However, he said that after assuming charge of office his Government has started many projects in the name of nation builders. Bhagwant Mann also announced various projects for the district including a college and strengthening and widening of roads projects.
The Chief Minister said that the district is to be developed as a tourist destination and the various maritime projects to be started in this regard will provide maximum employment opportunities to the youth. Bhagwant Mann said that the state government is making policies or projects with the active participation of every stakeholder for proper and suitable usage of the public exchequer.
