PTC Web Desk: The Punjab Roadways Bus and PRTC Contract Workers' Union has announced their decision to support the ongoing farmers' protest by staging a four-hour strike on December 30 as part of Punjab Bandh. The strike is a part of the larger movement led by farmer organisations to protest against the Central Government’s policies, which they claim are harming the agricultural and labour sectors.

In a joint press release issued on December 28 by union leaders, including Kamal Kumar (founder) and Resham Singh Gill (state president), the union leaders stated that they are committed to supporting the farmers' cause. The union plans to join the farmers’ protests and take part in the Punjab Bandh with full determination.

The strike will take place from 10 am to 2 pm on December 30. The workers have made it clear that the strike will not last the entire day to avoid causing unnecessary inconvenience to the public. However, the four-hour period will be used to disrupt bus services.

Punjab Roadways buses and PRTC contract workers will be participating in the strike, which will affect the regular bus services across the state. The union leaders said public transport would be disrupted during this period, but essential services like medical emergencies would not be affected.

Union leaders have also announced their participation in the farmers' protests and sit-ins across the state. They assured that they would join these protests in large numbers, showing their solidarity with the farmers’ demands for better policies and reforms.

The union leaders condemned both the Central and state governments for failing to address the issues faced by farmers, labourers, and employees.
