Punjab air quality improves marginally, 162 stubble burning cases reported in last 24 hrs

Punjab air quality: Punjab registered 162 stubble burning cases on Saturday, bringing the season total to 10,605.

Ludhiana had the most cases with 28, followed by Mansa (19), Fazilka (16), and Barnala (15). Bathinda, Ferozepur, and Moga each reported 14 cases, while Sangrur had 11.

Meanwhile, the state's air quality index (AQI) improved slightly, however, four cities remained in the "poor" category (201-300).

Bathinda had the cleanest air in the state, with an AQI of 91 (satisfactory), according to the Central Pollution Control Board's report.

It was followed by Rupnagar 151, Mandi Gobindgarh 174, and Amritsar 181, all of which had moderate air quality. Ludhiana (256), Patiala (225), Jalandhar (222), and Khanna (208).
