‘My son is lion,’ says Amritpal Singh’s mother after son’s arrest
Amritpal Singh’s family reaction: ‘Waris Punjab De’ head Amritpal Singh, the radical Sikh preacher, was arrested from the ancestral village of Khalistani leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale in the Moga district of Punjab. This arrest came 37 days after the Punjab Police launched a search for the 'Waris Punjab De' chief. Singh had been on the run since a police crackdown on his group on March 18, when he managed to evade capture in the Jalandhar district.
Khalistan preacher Amritpal Singh surrendered before Rode village in Punjab’s Moga district on Sunday morning. When he surrendered at Moga, he was in his ‘Sikhi Saroop’ and ensured that his videos are made before surrender. He also paid tributes to Bhindrawale.
‘My son is warrior’: Amritpal Singh’s mother statement
A big statement has been issued by Amritpal Singh’s mother Balwinder Kaur on arrest of his son. While addressing the media, Amritpal’s mother said that “I am proud of my son; my son is a lion and a warrior.” “My son did nothing wrong”, added Balwinder Kaur.
His mother further added that she is proud that Amritpal Singh surrendered in ‘Sikhi Saroop’ and also pain tribute to Bhindrawale.
Meanwhile, while addressing media, Amritpal Singh’s father said, “We have full faith in God; we know that truth will come out soon.”
IG Sukhchain Singh statement on Amritpal’s arrest
Addressing a press conference, Punjab's Inspector General of Police (IGP) Headquarters, Sukhchain Singh Gill said, "It is very clear that we have arrested him, he was surrounded from all sides and had no way to escape. Whatever he said inside the Gurudwara Sahib it is not right to comment on it." Punjab IGP Sukhchain Singh Gill said that the police did not enter the Gurudwara Sahib to maintain its sanctity.

Meanwhile, Amritpal Singh has been sent to Dibrugarh, Assam and further action will be taken as per law and order in the case.
