PTC Web Desk: The management of Mohali Wave Estate, Sector 85, celebrated International Yoga Day 2024 with great zeal and enthusiasm, marking the occasion with a series of events that highlighted the benefits of yoga and the importance of environmental conservation.

The celebration saw the active participation of residents, especially children, who gathered in large numbers to attend the activities.

Renowned yoga instructor Shweta Shukla and her students from Wellness Mantra spearheaded the event. Shweta performed various asanas and highlighted the importance of each for different organs. She said with yoga, any disease could be reversed.

The event was graced by the presence of DGP Law and Order Arpit Shukla, who served as the chief guest. In his address, IPS officer Shukla emphasised the profound impact of yoga on mental and physical health.

He said, "Yoga is not just an exercise; it is a way of life that brings balance, peace, and harmony. By integrating yoga into our daily routine, we can lead healthier and more fulfilling lives."

Shukla further added, "In today's fast-paced world, the practice of yoga helps in reducing stress and improving overall well-being. It fosters a sense of inner peace and allows us to connect with our true selves. I encourage everyone to make yoga a regular part of their lives and experience its transformative benefits."

The event also included a plantation drive, underscoring the commitment to environmental sustainability. This initiative was led by Bhajandeep Singh Anand, a senior official from the management. Under his guidance, participants planted various saplings, contributing to the greener future of the community.

Anand highlighted the dual significance of the day's events by stating, "As we nurture our minds and bodies through yoga, it is equally important to nurture our environment. Planting trees is a step towards a healthier planet and a better future for our children."

The enthusiasm of the children was particularly noteworthy as they engaged in both yoga sessions and the plantation drive with great excitement. Varun Vasudeva, Kunal Kapoor, Jatinder Chaudhary and HS Chug from the residents' welfare association thanked the DGP Law and Order for gracing the occasion.
