Punjab shocker: In a horrific and spine-chilling incident, a 31-year-old woman was brutally attacked by a masked man with a sharp weapon in broad daylight in Phase 5, Mohali, Saturday morning.
The police identified the deceased as 31-year-old Baljinder Kaur, a resident of Fatehpur Jattan village near Morinda town, had been working at a private bank's call centre for the past nine years.
CCTV footage from the vicinity captured the assailant's brutal attack, showing the masked man fatally wounding Kaur in daylight, with no bystanders intervening to stop the attack or assist the victim.
According to preliminary investigations, Kaur arrived at her workplace via autorickshaw and was walking towards her office when she was ambushed by the accused, who was already lying in wait.
Despite being rushed to the hospital, Baljinder Kaur succumbed to her injuries. The accused, Sukhchain, has been arrested in connection with the murder.
Police sources suggest that the case might be related to a love affair, but the victim's family refutes this claim. The woman's family said they were unaware of any such relationship and had never encountered such a situation before.
Further investigation into the case is ongoing.
