Moga: 2 devotees dead as vehicle carrying Guru Granth Sahib Ji palki touches high-tension wires

PTC Web Desk: In a tragic incident in a Moga village in Punjab, two devotees died and seven others were seriously injured during a Nagar Kirtan on Friday. The accident occurred when the bus carrying the sacred Palki (palanquin) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji came into contact with high-tension power lines, resulting in a severe electric shock.

According to reports, the Nagar Kirtan procession was organised by the management committee of Gurdwara Akalgarh Sahib in the village. As Nagar Kirtan passed through the village, the upper structure of the bus, which was carrying  Palki Sahib, touched overhead power lines, leading to the fatal accident.



The injured devotees, identified as Harjinder Kaur, Kuldeep Kaur, Surjeet Singh, Joginder Kaur, Manjeet Kaur, and Raj Kaur, were immediately rushed to a private hospital . 

Eyewitnesses reported a chaotic scene as the electric shock caused panic among the devotees. The police are investigating the incident.
