Man shot dead at cremation ground in Patiala while collecting ashes

PTC Web Desk: A man, identified as Navneet Singh, was allegedly shot dead at a cremation ground in Patiala while collecting ashes of a deceased family member. The assailants, reportedly two in number, were waiting inside the cremation ground and opened fire as soon as the victim came there.
Navneet Singh, a resident of Patiala, had visited the cremation ground near Ghalori Gate along the canal road with his family to collect the ashes of his uncle, who was cremated yesterday. According to witnesses, the attackers were wearing shawls and monkey caps. They fired multiple rounds, three of which hit Navneet, leading to his death on the spot.
The attackers fled toward the highway after executing the crime within minutes. The motive behind the murder remains unclear, but police are investigating it as a possible dispute linked to business affairs.
Forensic teams have arrived at the scene to collect evidence. The police have sent Navneet's body for a post-mortem examination and are questioning witnesses to establish the sequence of events.
