Lost a brilliant mind: IISER condoles death of seasoned scientist in Mohali
Notably Dr. Abhishek Swarnkar was selected by the Department of Science and Technology to meet Nobel Laureates in 2017.

PTC News Desk: The IISER or Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research on Thursday expressed grief over the death of its scientist Dr Abhishek Swarnkar in Punjab's Mohali over a trivial parking dispute. In a statement, the IISER said they have "lost a brilliant mind" and demanded strict action against the accused.
"We have lost a brilliant mind. Such an act of violence is unacceptable, and strict action should be taken against the accused," the statement read.
Notably Dr. Abhishek Swarnkar was selected by the Department of Science and Technology to meet Nobel Laureates in 2017.
Dr Abhishek Swarnkar was beaten to death after having an altercation with neighbour Monty over parking in Mohali's sector 67 and the latter pushed him to the ground and punched him resulting in his death.
Originally from West Bengal, Dr Swarnkar was a distinguished scientist whose work was featured in international journals. He worked in Switzerland and had recently returned to India and joined IISER as a project scientist.
