Last day of Sukhbir Singh Badal's religious penance, to perform ardas at Sri Akal Takht Sahib on December 13
The religious penance or 'sewa' was pronounced by Sri Akal Takht Sahib after the leaders of Akali Dal atone to religious misconducts during their tenure.
PTC News Desk: Shiromani Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Singh Badal has reached Sri Muktsar Sahib to complete his religious penance. Today is the last day of performing penance as directed by Sri Akal Takht.
Upon completion of religious punishment, Sukhbir Singh Badal along with other Akali leaders will bow down before Sri Akal Takht Sahib and perform 'ardas'. Once the sewa is fulfilled, Shiromani Akali Dal will commence the attempts to reinstate the party in Punjab.
On the last day of religious punishment, Akali leader while being wheelchair bound, wearing blue 'sewadar' uniform and with a spear in hand continued his service followed by listening to Gurbani kirtan and washing utensils in the community kitchen. Hence Sukhbir Singh Badal will complete his 10 day sentence.

Besides Badal, the punishment was ordered to key figures including Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, Bikram Singh Majithia, Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra and Bibi Jagir Kaur.
As a part of the the sewa, Akal Takht Jathedar had also ordered the rebel faction to dissolve Shiromani Akali Dal Sudhar Lehar and directed the leaders to unite in the party setting aside the escalated rift.
