PTC Web Desk: In a tragic incident, a gunman assigned for the security of Chamkaur Singh, uncle of the late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, died after an accidental gunshot late Monday evening. The police have taken the body into custody for a post-mortem examination.

Following the killing of Sidhu Moosewala, the government had provided security to his entire family. Hardeep Singh, an ex-serviceman with the Punjab Police, was deployed to guard Moosewala’s uncle, Chamkaur Singh.

The incident occurred around 2.30 am when Hardeep Singh returned to his home in the village of Fafde Bhai after attending a wedding. While cleaning his licensed pistol, a round was reportedly discharged, striking him fatally in the head. Hardeep Singh died on the spot.

The Mansa DSP confirmed the incident and said Hardeep Singh had been assigned to Chamkaur Singh’s security after retiring from the Punjab Police. "Preliminary reports indicate he died from a gunshot wound, but a thorough investigation is underway to determine how the incident unfolded," said the DSP.
