PTC Web Desk: Nihang Singh Bhupinder Singh, fondly known as Jathedar Bhupinder Singh, from Ludhiana has returned from Canada to settle down in his hometown. Of late, he has become a local sensation due to his remarkable companionship with pigeons, drawing attention for his unique lifestyle.

Jathedar Bhupinder Singh's pigeons, around 60-70 in number, are not merely pets, but trained companions. He asserts that these pigeons receive specialised training, a process spanning two-three months, with eight of them being exceptionally well-trained. They display an uncanny sense of loyalty by following him, even while he rides his bike. They act as his guardians, flocking around him whenever he stands still, exhibiting an almost bodyguard-like behaviour.

What sets this bond apart is that these pigeons, contrary to convention, are not confined to cages, but instead enjoy freedom on an open roof, yet remain closely connected to Jathedar Bhupinder Singh. Their unwavering devotion to him is such that they actively seek him out if separated. This unique relationship has captivated the attention of visitors, who flock from far-off places after witnessing viral social media videos featuring these remarkable birds.

Besides pigeons, there is a cat and a dog living under the same roof. Jathedar Bhupinder Singh attributes the harmonious relationship between a cat and the pigeon, usually perceived as natural adversaries, to love rather than enmity. 

Drawing inspiration from Gurbani teachings, Jathedar Saab cites the verse "Jin Prem Kio, Tin Hi Prabh Payio', emphasising the significance of love and devotion. His lifestyle exemplifies a unique connection between humans and animals, showcasing an unconventional yet heartwarming bond, where pigeons are not just pets but trusted companions and guardians, thriving in an environment of trust and freedom.
