Father of professor Arvind, Vice Chancellor of Punjabi University passes away

Patiala, December 28: Dr Harsaran Singh, father of Professor Arvind, vice chancellor Punjabi University passed away on Wednesday morning. 

Dr Harsaran Singh was born in August 1926 at Layalpur Chak Number 73, Jhabbal and remained a student of Khalsa College, Amritsar from where he did his B.Sc.

After completion of his B.Sc, he did MBBS from Govt Medical College, Amritsar.

He remained associated with All India Students Federation (AISF) and remained state president of the youth wing. 

For a short period he remained in government service and later on left the government job and started his own practices. 

96-year-old Harsaran Singh was a doctor by profession. He remained popular as a people’s doctor, wherever he had served during his life.

His cremation ceremony will take place at 3pm on December 28 at his native village Ekal Gadda in Tarn Taran district.
