PTC News Desk: As cold weather grips North India, the Meteorological Department predicts that Punjab and Chandigarh will remain dry for the next seven days.
The changing weather patterns forecast a drop in temperatures, particularly in the plains, following heavy snowfall in Himachal Pradesh and neighbouring hilly regions.
The recent snowfall in Himachal Pradesh has resulted in cooler winds flowing from the mountains to the plains. This has resulted in a slight rise in cold temperatures in Punjab and Chandigarh. In the next days, day and night temperatures are predicted to drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius.
On Tuesday, Adampur recorded the state's lowest temperature of 6 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, Chandigarh recorded a minimum temperature of 8.7 degrees Celsius, 2.2 degrees below usual.
