Chandigarh tragedy | In a horrific and heart-wrenching incident, a 27-year-old woman crushed to death after an ITBP truck hit her scooter.
The tragic incident unfolded at Housing Board Light Point in Chandigarh.
According to police reports, woman was riding her Honda Activa at approximately 8:30 pm when the truck rammed her vehicle, resulting in fatal injuries as she was run over by the truck at the scene.
The victim, identified as Shivani was a resident of Baltana and employed at Chandigarh IT Park, tragically succumbed to her injuries on the spot.
Upon receiving notification of the accident, officers from the Manimajra police station, led by in-charge Ramdayal, swiftly responded to the scene.
Following the medical examination, Shivani's body was transferred to the mortuary at Sector-16 Hospital.
The driver of the truck, identified as Satpreet (40), has been arrested by authorities. He faces charges under Sections 304-A (causing death by negligence) and 279 (rash driving) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The incident has left the community in shock, with condolences pouring in for the bereaved family and calls for enhanced road safety measures in the area.
