PTC News Desk: Farmers' protest at Matka Chowk has ended. Bharti Kisan Union (BKU)-Ugrahan, who took out a protest march to Matka Chowk in Chandigarh on Monday, handed over a memorandum of their demands to AAP Minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian.

The minister has assured the farmers to resolve their issues.

Notably, the Chandigarh administration has allowed any organisation to hold a protest at Matka Chowk after many years. It used to be the centre of protests in the city, but the Chandigarh administration prohibited protests at the location.

Meanwhile, farmers will continue their five-day dharna in Sector 34.

Notably, hundreds of farmers and labourers arrived in Chandigarh on Sunday with their tractors/trolleys, private vehicles, and buses to protest the recurring delays in the implementation of an agriculture policy. Protesters, under the banner of BKU (Ugrahan) and Punjab Khet Mazdoor Union (PKMU), have been permitted to camp at Sector 34, Dussehra Ground. On September 5, they will meet and decide whether to stay in Chandigarh or return to Punjab.
