Chandigarh administration issues advisory regarding H3N2; shares dos and don'ts
Chandigarh, March 12: Amid rising H3N2 cases across the country, the Chandigarh administration has issued an advisory to prevent the upsurge of seasonal influenza. The UT health department has shared a list of dos and don'ts.
Symptoms to look out for:
Fever and cough
Sore throat
Difficulty in breathing
Other symptoms include body aches, fatigue, chills, diarrhoea, vomiting, blood in sputum etc.

The advisory also states that people with chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, airway disease and heart disease etc; adults of age 65 or above and children younger than 5 years and pregnant women may be at higher risk for severe illness.
Do's
Cover your mouth and nose with a handkerchief or tissue when you cough or sneeze dispose of these properly
Wash your hands often with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand gel.
Avoid touching eyes, nose or mouth
Wear mask and avoid crowded places.
Get plenty of sleep.
Drink plenty of fluids and eat nutritious food
Take paracetamol for fever and body aches
Don'ts
Shake hands or hug in greetings
Eat together sitting close to others
Take antibiotics or other medicine without consulting a doctor
