BSF foils Pakistani drone near Punjab's Fazilka
The drone was found along with approximately 2 kg of suspected heroin near the international border
Fazilka, June 22: The Border Security Force (BSF) operating in Punjab's Fazilka region has successfully recovered a drone originating from the Pakistani side and two packets containing suspected narcotics near the Abohar border, according to an official statement released on Thursday.
Acting on specific intelligence, alert BSF troops discovered a Pakistani drone (DJI Matrice 300 RTK) on June 22 in the morning hours. The drone was found along with approximately 2 kg of suspected heroin near the international border in Jodhawala village of Fazilka district, as reported by the BSF Punjab Frontier.
Once again, the vigilant BSF troops effectively foiled the nefarious attempts of smugglers to transport contraband using a drone, the statement added. Further investigations are currently underway to gather more information regarding the incident.

Earlier, on the night of June 20-21, 2023, BSF officials announced the recovery of another drone from the Pakistan side along with two packets of suspected narcotics in Rajasthan's Gharsana. The two packets, weighing nearly 2 kg, were seized by the alert troops of BSF Bikaner deployed along the Indo-Pak International Border in Gharsana, as stated in the official statement released by BSF Rajasthan.
The continuous efforts and successful operations by the BSF in intercepting such illegal activities highlight their commitment to border security and combating drug smuggling. These incidents serve as a reminder of the persistent challenges faced by security forces in ensuring the safety and integrity of the nation's borders.
