PTC Web Desk: Three members of a family and their pet dog were found dead in a Barnala residential colony on Saturday.

The incident took place in Ram Rajya Colony in Barnala. The deceased have been identified by Kulbir Singh Mann, his 21-year-old Canada-return daughter Nirmat Kaur and his old mother Balwant Kaur.

The family's only survivor had gone out to buy milk at the time of the incident. Reportedly, Kulbir Singh's wife had gone to the market to buy milk. When she returned, the gate to the house was locked from the inside.

She raised an alarm when no one opened the door after a long period of time. Police and neighbours gathered and broke down the door. When they entered the house, they found all three bodies in pools of blood in different rooms. The pet was found in the courtyard.

Barnala DSP Satbir Singh stated that Mann had been depressed for some time.  A weapon was discovered on the site, and police investigations are ongoing.
