PTC Web Desk: Tragedy struck once again at the protest site on Shambhu Border as another farmer, identified as Jaswant Singh (70) from Shahbazpur village in Tarn Taran, died on Tuesday. According to fellow protesters, Jaswant Singh had retired for the night but failed to wake up the following morning.

Samyukt Kisan Morcha leader Sarvan Singh Pandher said Jaswant Singh's body has been shifted to a hospital in Rajpura for medical examination. Survived by his wife Balwinder Kaur and three children, including a son and two daughters, Jaswant Singh's sudden demise marks the 20th death among protesters since the demonstrations began at the Shambhu border on February 13.

This recent loss adds to a string of fatalities in the past few days, with three farmers, including a woman, succumbing. Surinderpal Singh (65) passed away while protesting against BJP candidate Preneet Kaur at Sehra village in Rajpura on May 4. Balwinder Kaur of Tarn Taran lost her life during the 'rail roko' protest at the Shambhu railway station on Sunday.
