Amritsar bomb blasts issue raised in Parliament: MP Gurjeet Aujla expresses concern, calls Punjab Govt a failure

PTC Web Desk: Amritsar MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla on Monday took up the issue of increasing incidents of bomb blasts in Punjab, in Parliament. He said in the past two to three months, the state had witnessed 13 bomb explosions, including a recent grenade attack on a temple in Amritsar.

Addressing the House, Gurjeet Singh Aujla said, “The number of bomb blasts has risen dangerously in the last 2-3 months, with 13 incidents reported. The recent grenade attack on a temple in Amritsar highlights the worsening security situation. As a major tourist destination, Amritsar is under severe threat, and the Punjab government has completely failed to ensure security. The Chief Minister is weak, and the state government has proven ineffective in handling the crisis.”

Aujla said Punjab, being a border state, required urgent intervention to prevent further deterioration of law and order. "This is a critical time. We must take immediate and effective steps to prevent the situation from escalating further. The security of our city and its people should be the topmost priority," he added.

Aujla strongly criticised the Punjab government, accusing it of failing to protect its citizens. He warned that if strict measures were not implemented in time, the situation could become even more alarming. Urging both the state and Central governments to take swift and decisive action, Aujla reiterated that ensuring the safety of Amritsar and its residents must be the highest priority.
