PSPCL sets new record of 3,265 lakh units supply in single day

Chandigarh, June 29: Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) sets a new record for meeting the maximum power demand of 14207 MW in Punjab surpassing its earlier record of 14056 MW. A record of 3,265 lakh units of power supply has been set. This is an increase of 6.49 per cent over the previous year. Earlier last year, on July 1, 2021, 3,066 lakh units were supplied. The state government has been providing 8 hours daily power to the agricultural consumers and 24 hours power supply to all other categories of consumers without any power cut. Presently, 13 out of 15 thermal units are operating in Punjab. Though, Talwandi Sabo unit has been shut down due to a boiler problem, the hydro generation is around 740 MW.
