Protesting students 'manhandle' Panjab University VC [Watch Video]
Panjab University Senate election: In a shocking incident, Panjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Raj Kumar was 'manhandled' by protesting students outside the Law Auditorium on the campus on Wednesday.
According to information, Prof Raj Kumar had come to the auditorium to cast his vote for Panjab University Senate election. As soon as he came out after casting his vote, he was surrounded by the protesting students.

A video is making rounds on social media that show Panjab University Vice-Chancellor running for his life. He was escorted by the Panjab University security.

Several student organisations have been protesting in support of their demand for the opening of Panjab University and for conducting graduate constituency elections for the Senate.
Panjab University Senate Poll
Six members of the Goyal group won the Panjab University Senate election of ordinary fellows to the Senate. Ronki Ram was elected in the faculty of arts with 53 votes while his rival Anju Suri bagged 47 votes. In the faculty of medical sciences, Ashok Goyal was elected with 47 votes, while Sarvdeep Singh Dhatt secured only 29 votes.
Rajesh Gill was elected from the faculty of languages with 48 votes, while Gurpal Singh Sandhu bagged 35 votes. Keshav Malhotra got 141 votes from the combined faculty, while Naval Kishore secured only 107 votes.
Meanwhile, Navdeep Goyal was chosen from the faculty of science with 90 votes while his rival Promila Pathak got 38 votes. Likewise, Anu Chatrath was elected from the faculty of law with 37 votes while her competitor Jagjot Singh Lalli polled 10 votes.
