Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann held a Janata Darbar on Monday to address the grievances faced by the Punjabis. The event was organized at Punjab Bhawan in Chandigarh. CM Punjab was accompanied by senior Punjab Chief Secretary Anirudh Tewari and DGP VK Bhawra. But because this was not known to the commoners, large crowd had gathered outside the Punjab Bhawan to lodge their respective complaints. However, after finding out about this, CM Bhagwant Mann asked the authorities to take their applications and register them for the next public meet. Number of them expressed their displeasure and claimed that it is not ‘Janta Darbar’ but ‘VIP Meet’. Even an Aam Aadmi Party work who was part of the crowd said, “I have been associated with this party since 2012 and we came here after hearing the Janata Darbar but to our surprise we were not given entry.” “I am an Aam Aadmi Party worker from Nayangaon. I came here with the problems of my people but I was not allowed to enter as my name was not on the list. My area is lacks facilities," he further added. Several of them were complaining about the encroachments on village common lands, drug addicts running lose, complaints regarding power department, and those who had been selected for different government jobs during the term of the previous government but the recruitment process was not complete.
