Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas name daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas; know what it means

New Delhi, April 21: Actor Priyanka Chopra and her husband Nick Jonas have named their baby daughter Malti Marie with both their last names, Chopra and Jonas. According to TMZ, the birth certificate gives the baby's name as Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. Here's what it means: Malti, which is also a flower, is part of Priyanka's mother's name - Madhumalti. 'Malti'is a Sanskrit word/name which means small fragrant flower or moonlight. 'Marie' is derived from the Latin stella maris, which means "sea star." It also has a biblical name, as it is the French translation of Mary, Jesus' mother. The couple welcomed their first child earlier this year via surrogacy. As per TMZ reports, baby Malti was born in San Diego on January 15, according to the birth certificate. On January 22, Priyanka and Nick Jonas took to Instagram and announced that they became parents. "We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much," the post read. Recognising that really helped me, my parents were very non-judgemental in a certain way." On the work front, Priyanka is awaiting the release of her film 'It’s All Coming Back to Me', which is helmed by Jim Strouse. The film also stars Sam Heughan, Celine Dion, Russell Tovey, Steve Oram, Omid Djalili, Sofia Barclay, Lydia West, Arinzé Kene and Celia Imrie and will release in the US on February 10, 2023. The film was earlier titled 'Text for You.' It is based on the 2016 German film 'SMS fur Dich'. Priyanka also finished shooting for her Amazon TV show Citadel. The actor will also star in the upcoming action thriller, 'Ending Things' along with Anthony Mackie. She will also be seen in Farhan Akhtar's directorial, Jee Le Zaraa alongside Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt.
