Wayanad bypoll results: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi won by a huge margin of more than 3 lakh votes in Kerala's Wayanad seat. A parliamentary by-election was held in Wayanad to fill the vacancy left by Priyanka Gandhi's brother Rahul Gandhi when he moved to Raebareli.
Gandhi, who made her election debut from Wayanad, has received more than 5 lakh votes so far. CPI veteran Sathyan Mokeri is trailing by at least 3 lakh votes, while BJP candidate Navya Haridas is in third place.
16 candidates are running for Wayanad, including Priyanka Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi was elected to this seat for the first time in 2019, allowing him to remain a Lok Sabha member despite his defeat in Amethi. In 2024, he ran in both Wayanad and Rae Bareli, seats left vacant by his mother Sonia Gandhi when she rose to the Rajya Sabha. After winning both seats, he chose to keep Rae Bareli and allow his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to run from Wayanad.
