Major setback for INDIA: Arvind Kejriwal's AAP to contest all Lok Sabha seats in Punjab
Major setback for INDIA: In another major setback for the INDIA bloc, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will contest all 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab and one in Chandigarh.
On Saturday, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal announced the end of the Opposition's alliance in the state.
He stated that the party will announce candidates for these seats in the next 10-15 days.
"Two years ago, you blessed us. You gave us 92 out of 117 seats in the Punjab Assembly elections, making history. I've come to you with folded hands, asking for one more blessing. The Lok Sabha elections will be held in two months. Punjab has 13 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, plus one from Chandigarh, for a total of 14. In the next 10-15 days, the AAP will announce candidates for all 14 seats," Kejriwal said at an event.
"You have to make AAP sweep all these 14 seats with a majority," he added.
Arvind Kejriwal made the announcement while speaking at a gathering in Khanna, Punjab.
