Lok Sabha elections 2024: 'Varun Gandhi is most welcome to join us': Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury
PTC Web Desk: With the BJP dropping Varun Gandhi, who is sitting MP from Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh, from its Lok Sabha candidates' list, senior Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Tuesday made an offer to him. He said "Varun Gandhi is most welcome to join the Congress".
During the unveiling of its fifth list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on Sunday, the BJP announced 111 candidates. Varun Gandhi was, however, omitted from the Pilibhit Lok Sabha seat, while his mother, Maneka Gandhi, retained her candidacy.
In a strategic move, the BJP chose to replace Varun Gandhi with former Congress leader Jitin Prasada for the Pilibhit seat in Uttar Pradesh. Besides, the party disclosed candidates for various Lok Sabha seats across several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Rajasthan, Haryana, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Kerala, Karnataka, Goa, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Mizoram, Sikkim, Telangana, West Bengal, and Andhra Pradesh.
