PTC Web Desk: Kangana Ranaut, currently in the spotlight for her upcoming film 'Emergency', is facing fresh controversy following her recent remarks about Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale. The Sikh community has expressed strong objections to the film's trailer, accusing it of historical distortion. However, a new dispute has emerged after Kangana's statement, where she termed Bhindranwale as a terrorist rather than a saint. Senior BJP leader and former Union minister Som Parkash has sharply criticised Kangana's comments.

In a statement, the former Union urged her to refrain from making unnecessary remarks against Bhindranwale and the Sikh community. Som Parkash said such statements harm the sentiments of the Sikh community and called for discipline to maintain peace in Punjab.

In her interview, Kangana defended her film, stating that the history depicted in 'Emergency' has been deliberately obscured and not properly communicated. She said her film, which had received certification from the Censor Board and supervision from four historians, did not contain any inaccuracies. Kangana claimed that there was a campaign to ban her film and that she had received threats in response to her portrayal of Bhindranwale as a terrorist.
