Haryana Election Results 2024: Savitri Jindal, recognised as India's wealthiest woman, made a significant entry into Haryana's political landscape by running as an independent candidate in the Hisar Assembly elections. She emerged victorious, defeating the BJP's candidate by a margin of 18,941 votes.
Savitri Jindal, mother of BJP’s Kurukshetra MP Naveen Jindal faced off against Kamal Gupta, a senior BJP leader and sitting MLA. Her decision to contest as an independent candidate came after she was unable to secure a ticket from the BJP.
In an interview earlier, Savitri Jindal had said the "people of Hisar are my family" and it was their support that motivated her to run. She pledged to actively represent their interests in the state assembly if elected.
